alt-J’s new album “Relaxer”

I’ve been listening to the English indie band’s new album, which came out earlier this month. It’s soft and dark with a variety of sounds and instruments. On their website you can play an interactive game inspired by the album.

“Red” by Ramsey Shehadeh

I read this short story on Tor.com last week. It’s a about a boy who drops into his favorite detective board game to try to solve the mystery of his missing sister.

“Location Scouting for West Anderson” from Messy Nessy Chic

Check out photos taken by this traveler and blogger that could have come from a Wes Anderson film, aesthetically speaking.

Trees

Um, yeah… I’m really into trees right now- (did I just say that?). I listened to a podcast the other day about how trees communicate in forests through their roots and certain fungus. It gave me a new perspective on nature’s leafy wonders. I also began perusing the book The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate – Discoveries from a Secret World by Peter Wohlleben, which is at the top of my to-read list.
