Monthly Wrap is my monthly post about recent happenings and things I’m loving or just feel like sharing. In other words, whatever happens to be taking up space in my brain. Here’s where my head has been recently:
School Dayz
A couple of weeks ago I started taking a creative writing class at Emory University, part of a Creative Writing certificate program the college offers. Since I already completed my M.F.A. in film production, this curriculum seemed like a great way to dive deeper into my passion. I’m very excited to be back in an academic setting and strengthen my craft.
Finishing Once Upon a Time
I was hooked on Once Upon a Time when the show first aired in 2011, but after the first few seasons (and life getting busy) my attention to the show waned. However, I got back into it and finally completed the series this month. I think season seven, the final season, is actually one of my favorites. I enjoyed it so much that I went back and started the first season again. I’m always a fan of fairy-tales and retellings.
Routine
To be honest, June was not a very exciting month on paper. My focus has been on productivity, self-care and personal reflection. I started a meditation practice a while back, as I’ve mentioned before, and I recently began daily stream of consciousness writing, where I put my pen to paper and don’t pick it up for fifteen minutes. Whatever comes out, comes out with no editing involved. I’m also focussing on yoga, hiking and getting back into running. In terms of productivity, I am about half way through the first draft of the novel I’m writing and- you may have noticed- I’ve been posting on NYD more frequently.
I have to say, I’m not a bit upset that I haven’t had anything exciting to post to my personal social media pages because I’ve been accomplishing a lot and making progress on all of my personal goals. I do have some exciting things coming up in July, though, which I can’t wait to share with you!
