“Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
“Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,” I said, “art sure no craven,
Ghastly grim and ancient Raven wandering from the Nightly shore—
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night’s Plutonian shore!”
Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”
– Edgar Allen Poe, The Raven
This year I’m going as a raven for Halloween. My costume is pretty simple, but I’m happy with the outcome. I dusted off an old cape I had that looks like wings. Under my cape, I’m wearing a black dress, leggings, and black booties. I’m not the queen of makeup, but I took a stab at doing some simple face makeup and false lashes based on images I found online, giving the suggestion of a bird’s face. I braided my hair with some black feathers as well.

Brilliant post! Good set of images!
