The White Princess

Starz’s new series The White Princess premiered this past Saturday, a follow-up to the mini-series The White Queen and based on Philippa Gregory’s novel of the same name. The starts where The White Queen left off, but this time the protagonist is Princess Elizabeth. She has been promised in marriage to Henry the VII, who has just defeated and killed Richard III, ending the War of the Roses. Now she must face her destiny as wife to a man she hates.

SunTrust Park

There’s a new stadium in town. The Atlanta Braves’ new baseball stadium was used for the first time this past weekend as the Braves played their first home game. I wouldn’t consider myself a huge baseball fan, but SunTrust Park is more than just a stadium. Some of the best food establishments and breweries in Georgia have set up establishments around the stadium. There’s also a music venue and shopping.

Unicorn Frappuccino Mania

I won’t lie, I jumped on the bandwagon too. I tried the mythical new beverage. The drink was pretty, but not the most delicious item on the menu- plus there’s no coffee in it, so… what’s the point? What’s better than the frap is all the hype surrounding it. It’s amazing how something can go from loved to hated-on in a 24-hour period, but that’s how internet trends go. I do feel for the Starbucks employees, as a former Starbucks barista myself. I’m sure this has been a week of frappuccino hell.

Not published this week, but I happened to see this post on “The Underappreciated Art of Imaginary Wastelands” a few days ago and I really enjoyed it.
