The past couple days people around the web have been freaking out about a new revelation that a mastodon, found at a construction site in San Diego back in 1993, dates back 130,000. What does this have to do with humans? According to wired.com, a number of stone tools were found with the fossils at the site, putting humans in North America over 100,000 years earlier that previously thought. Researches spent quite a lot of time deciding what dating technology to use on the fossils. The findings were published in Nature. Much debate on these findings seems to be expected.
